    House Officer

House Officer Training is a mandatory component of medical training for all fresh medical graduates who have completed their basic medical degree. It is a period of clinical apprenticeship that aims to equip the new medical graduate with the basic skills of clinical practice. House Officer Training will last for 1 year and house officers are required to perform 3 or more clinical postings (each ranging from 2 - 6 months).

    Medical Officer

Medical Officers are qualified doctors who are immediately responsible for the total management of patients in the wards. They are required to help House Officers in the clerking of cases and supervise/help House Officers in the performance of procedures.

Medical Officers undergo two 6-monthly rotations in a year through a Medical Officer Posting Exercise (MOPEX) where Medical Officers are empowered to choose their own postings to suit their own developmental needs and career interest.

Changeover dates for the postings are in January and July each year.
